TERMS AND CONDITIONS

Approved mares only will be covered. The Stud reserves the right to refuse any difficult or diseased mare or any other mare which the stud considers to be unsuitable for breeding.

Pre-covering record. The mare owner must complete in full the pre-covering record giving precise details of any disease, vice or behavioral problems of the mare which may be prejudicial to her handlers, the stallion or any other mares at the stud.

Equine Flu and Tetanus Toxoid vaccinations. No mare will be allowed on to the stud without a valid certificate. (It is also recommended that the mare be vaccinated against the Equine Herpes Virus and Equine Viral Arteritis).

Swabs. All mares will be swabbed at the owner's expense. Any mare which has been swabbed prior to arrival at stud, must be accompanied by a veterinary certificate stating that she is free from infection including Contagious Equine Metritis.

Worming. All mares will be wormed on arrival at the stud and thereafter at 4-6 week intervals. The cost of this will be added to the mares keep bill.

Shoes. Mares should arrive at stud unshod with their feet freshly trimmed. Should their feet require attention during their stay, this will be done by the stud farrier and charged to the mare owners. Mares with brittle feet may have their front shoes left on.

Keep.The stud reserves the right to feed or stable grass kept mares/foals should they deem it necessary and to charge the mare owners accordingly.

Stud Fees. Are payable at the time of the mare's first service but may be paid together with the keep charges when the mare leaves the stud. ON NO ACCOUNT WILL THE MARE BE ALLOWED TO LEAVE THE STUD BEFORE STUD FEES AND KEEP CHARGES HAVE BEEN PAID IN FULL.

Covering Certificates. Will be issued at the end of the season unless requested earlier for showing/sale purposes.

Free returns/substitution. Should a mare prove to be barren once she has left the stud, slip her foal or produce a dead foal, then a free return will be offered for the following season , upon receipt of a certificate stating the same from a qualified veterinary surgeon. In exceptional circumstances, another mare may be substituted at the discretion of the stud.

Visitors. are welcome at any reasonable time by prior arrangement and it is requested that all telephone calls are made between 8am and 6pm.

Owners leaving mare/foals at stud do so entirely at their own risk and it is their responsibility to take out adequate insurance for such risks.

WHILST EVERY CARE IS TAKEN, NO RESPONSIBILITY WHATSOEVER WILL BE ACCEPTED FOR ACCIDENT, SICKNESS, DISEASE OR DEATH TO MARE OR FOAL WHILST VISITING THE STUD
