What a lovely change it has been to see the sun today!  A big thank you to all of the competitors for turning up for the dressage yesterday, only 2 being unable to make it despite the awful weather, well done to all those that qualified for the Trailblazers second rounds on March 28th, we look forward to seeing you all again then! February 2nd

Well not too much to write about during December and January! The awful weather meant everything, everywhere was cancelled and we all were in pretty much the same boat - trying to manage the horses in all the snow, they didn't seem to mind, it was just the endless work it brought! Back to normality now though, the BSJA jumping went very well last weekend with good entries, everyone grateful to be able to at least get the horses out and some really good jumping was seen (for results use the link on the home page!) the dressage last Sunday went smoothly too and we are looking forward to the unaffiliated jumping this weekend. The cafe is getting some really good positive comments, glad you all like it. To try to help out we are opening up as many days as possible with our opening schooling days and the days available will be on Horse dates and the home page every Monday morning.....some of you will have seen the new 'boys' standing this year, Scorpion King, Nutty Professor and Storm Shadow at the dressage shows (as they were not 4 until this year couldn't jump at shows), thier full breeding and details are of course on the stud pages to anyone interested or of course drop me an email!  If any of you are interested in some showing shows maybe you could let me know as well........if enough people show an interest I will happliy organize some......Thanks for reading and hopefully see you soon......once again thanks to you all for your continued support.

August 4th

Despite the awful weather leading up to the weekend, and the forecast for Sunday 2nd August, the sun shone all day, everyone appeared to enjoy themselves, with good entries throughout the senior classes and even the junior entries were improved. Rodger Howe built excellent courses making use of the huge outdoor arena, which rode superbly following the works completed earlier in the year. Many thanks to all of the competitors for their continued and much valued support and of course a big thank you to everyone that helped make the show such a success.

July 13th

Excellent turnout for the senior qualifiers yesterday, congradulations to all who qualified, we were very lucky to have such wonderful weather for the whole weekend, construction of the mini cross country course starts next week and we will schedule a few mini one day events for later in the year, any ideas please let me know!

June 9th

We have heard a rumour that our large all weather arena is to be split into two arenas (one for senior and one for Junior), this is NOT TRUE, and has NEVER even been thought to be a possibility by us!. All senior showjumping is on the all weather outdoor arenas for all of the summer shows. Juniors will be held in the indoor arenas  this coming weekend and maybe the grass arena for the following events.

The major works for the new viewing gallery and cafe are now completed and we would like to thank everyone for putting up with any inconvenience caused during the building, the inside will be done over the summer months causing no further problems! Thanks too for the lovely comments regarding the outdoor arena surface from our competitors yesterday, and from Carlton riding club, much appreciated!

JUNE 7TH

WOULD ALL COMPETITIORS KINDLY NOTE THAT AS FROM OUR NEXT UNAFFILIATED SHOW (JULY 12TH) SENIORS WILL BE HELD IN THE MORNING AND JUNIORS IN THE AFTERNOON.

THANKYOU

May 11th

The Discovery Regional Final yesterday went very well, the new surface rode superbly and the complimentary comments were very welcome after all of the hard work that has gone into getting things right!, The grass arena rode well too and although the Junior entries were slightly disappointing, hopefully they will pick up for the June show with the scope qualifiers. Please let us know if you would prefer to jump on Grass or the surface by email, comments, suggestions are much appreciated! Apologies to all for any inconvenience caused by the continuing works on the gallery and cafe, they will be completed by the end of this week...

May 5th

Well that's it - presentations done, congratulations to all, excellent entries yesterday with 49 in the dressage and good entries for the senior Jumping, Juniors were a little down, but hopefully we will see everyone at the next show on the 7th June......the new Summer league has now started so keep an eye on the tables and make sure your membership is up to date! All of the unaffiliated shows are now qualifying for next years Trailblazers both dressage and Jumping......Work has started on the new viewing gallery, cafe and snug so we will all be warm next winter season, and the new grass arena is ready for use as from this weekend. We received some fantastic comments and response for the new surface in the main arena over the weekend too, which jumped superbly all day. The cross country fences have also arrived and will be put up for use by the end of the month! It really is busy, busy, busy here at the moment!

April 12th

Again excellent entries for the dressage yesterday, although not so many for the showjumping, the weather was awful for our first show outdoors, (typical for the easter bank holiday) but on the upside - the arena proved the improvements had worked and held up very well. The results for our winter showjumping league are now confirmed  - congradulations to Remy Farrant winning the showjumping league, Jenny Mitchell 2nd, Chloe Woodcock 3rd, Danny Carr 4th, Fiona Butler 5th and Lizzie Marsh 6th, The dressage league results were very close, with Siobhan Gilligan taking 1st place, Anneka Strikland 2nd, Jenny Gates 3rd, Julie Anghileri 4th, Danny Carr 5th and Caroline De Wilde 6th. Presentation of Trophies and vouchers will take place at the Championship Show on May 3rd, when the new Summer league points table also starts again, so good luck to you all once again!

The new grass arena is also starting to look good and will be ready for use from May onwards and we will also have a mini cross country course of 10 jumps (2'3" to 2'9"), which will be avaliable to use from mid may onwards, either privately or on thursday schooling days! We will also start some mini one day events later in the year so watch this space........

March 16th

Excellent entries for the dressage over the weekend, with 63 competitiors in the dressage and the vast majority qualifying for the Trailblazers second rounds, I can only congradulate everyone. Many Thanks to Moira Gedge for Judging such a long day and to Audrey and Cynthia Scopac for thier help with writing. Of course I would also thank all of the competitors for the valued support.

March 9th

Well I thought we were going to have a quiet day at the beginning of the show, but how wrong could we be......despite the weather proving unable to decide which season we were in with high winds, heavy rain bursts and even a small sleet shower, the turnout was excellent with high entries and some really good jumping, it was really great to have 20 entries in the latter classes, jumping until after 6pm.....Stephen Dye built excellent courses throughout the day and everyone seemed really happy, a truly lovely atmosphere, which we strive to keep here, so again, as with every show we have, thank you all for your very much appreciated support  - See you on the 29th!  If anyone has any local news or anything of interest please email it to me and I will post it on to this page for you!

February 23rd

Excellent turnout and a wonderful atmosphere throughout the day, some really good jumping was seen, Stephen Dye built a strong rider course and over 15 competitors made it through to the jump off of the Devoucoux Qualifier with Laurie Bartram winning by ½ second! Local Top Young Rider, Tim Page won the British Novice with Whitney.

For full results, photos etc go to the Old Buckenham RDA Website. Thier next show here is  Indoor Showing on April 18th, so give them as much support as possible, it is an excellent cause!

We are exceptionally pleased to annouce that Pippa Childerhouse is joining us at Overa Farm to offer dressage clinics, the first one to be held is March 11th, follow the links on home page or show dates for more information.

15th January, 2009

Well after a very wet and cold last few months we are now pleased to announce that we are starting with yet even more improvements here at Overa Farm. The main outdoor arena did ride a bit deep in places but we were not able due to weather conditions to be able to do anything about it, but improvements have now started and will be completed over the next couple of weeks. The BSJA Stripendiary Steward carried out an inspection of the centre on January 4th, 2009 and gave us a glowing report and acknowledged the improvements made since his last visit. He appreciated the work that has gone into the new outside arena and surface and also the additional bays of the indoor arena and the new surface there. The current work and new drainage will quickly bring these up to a very high standard.

We are also happy to have the continued support of Stephen Dye and Rodger Howe as well as Sue Peasley for our course Builders, and would like to thank Judy Sheldon, Val Attenborough, Ian and Clare Williamson and of course Mr John Jacks for all of their help and support......oh and of course Fran (Nutty Door Lady)......Christine Williams is also coming on board as we need more Judges with Junior shows starting as from April, so welcome.....

A new grass arena is also planned in readiness for the coming outdoor season and will be ready for our 2nd round discovery competition in May, we would also like to organize a large two day charity show in aid of cancer research during May as well, so any ideas / sponsors please get in touch.

An extension to the viewing gallery in time for the winter indoor season and I am very pleased to announce a cafe with heating is most definately on the agenda, but Angie will still be doing the cooking you will all be pleased to know! Thank you all very much for your support and comments!

We are pleased to announce that we will be running Trailblazers showjumping and dressage events shortly!

In these times of the 'credit crunch' we are also please to annouce that we will not be increasing our entry fees and due to the success of our membership leagues we will be running them again for the summer season, again trophies will be yours to keep, so sincere thanks to everyone for their much valued and continued support.

There is always a sale rail in the saddlery too, and if we have not got the item you want in stock we will happily order it for you at no extra cost!
