OnTyte System Magnetic Stirrups
OnTyte Stirrups, developed by lifelong riders and husband-wife team Paul and Ashley Yanke, put a new twist on one of the most simple and traditional pieces of tack: the stirrup iron. Originally conceived for a rehabilitating rider who was having difficulty stabilizing her lower leg, OnTyte stirrups have a magnetic base that connects with a metal plate in the rider's boot sole, providing increased balance and security in the stirrup.

The OnTyte Magnetic Stirrup system consists of two parts: the stirrup iron - black plastic polymer or stainless steel fillis - and the magnetic sole, which can be attached to any paddock or tall boot. Boots must be shipped to OnTyte for resoling.

According to OnTyte, the FEI has approved their Magnetic Stirrup system for international competition.  US riders Laura Kraut, McLain Ward, Lauren Hough, and Phillip Dutton all ride in the system, as do a number of other US and international competitors. The system is also being used by Para Equestrian riders who lack strength or feeling in their feet and legs as a result of their disability.
